After individually analysing the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
website, I asked some questions to someone of a different age category who has
viewed the film on many occasions and recorded their responses. This proved
very useful as I was able to understand the website from another audience
member, allowing me to acknowledge other features of the website which I had
not yet considered or looked into.
Do you feel like the website
represents the film accurately?
Yes, from seeing the film I think
the menu layout is very accurate. The colour palette is dark mysterious and
unsettling. As a fan of the movie, I recall feeling unsettled during the film.
After looking at the website, what
is your favourite feature and why?
I love the animation at the beginning as
including this form of media in a website is not very common therefore it
attracted me to see what the rest of the website had in store. moreover, this
animation set the scene for what the website was going to be like and gave me
an idea, as I have not previously seen the film, what type of film the website
was about.
Does this website inspire you to
watch the film?
The website has inspired me to watch the film as it
uses the element of mystery throughout the pages, the dark colours and
animations within the website has given me an idea of what the film includes
however has me wanting more information about which character is which and what
relevance they have.
If you haven’t seen the film, what
genre would you think it was?
looking at the website’s
structure and house style I would guess that the film was a dark thriller or
horror movie. the dark colour scheme and the animation at the beginning has a
very spooky feel to it and the images that are featured are very mysterious.
